Overnight Ratings: Wells Fargo Has Best Final Round Since '15

CBS drew a 2.2 overnight rating for the final round of the PGA Tour Wells Fargo Championship, marking the event’s best final round since ’15. This year saw Tiger Woods play for the first time at Quail Hollow since ’12. Jason Day won the event by two strokes, while Woods finished tied for 55th. Last year, CBS drew a 1.6 overnight for Brian Harman’s one-stroke win over Dustin Johnson and Pat Perez, while two years ago, the net drew a 2.0 for James Hahn’s win over Roberto Castro in a playoff. The ’15 event drew a 2.4 as Rory McIlroy won by seven strokes. Woods’ return also was a boost for Golf Channel, whose first round audience on Thursday was up 67% from ’17.

NOTES: FS1 yesterday from 2:00-6:00pm ET drew a 1.7 overnight for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race from Dover. The comparable date last year was from Talladega on Fox. The spring race from Dover last year aired in early June, drawing a 1.9 overnight....ESPN on Sunday from 2:00-4:15pm drew a 0.2 overnight for its first-ever broadcast of the Women's NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship, which saw UCLA defeat Florida State.
