U.S. Figure Skating Renews Broadcast Deal With NBC Sports

The extension calls for at least 80 hours of linear figure skating coverage each seasonGetty Images

U.S. Figure Skating has renewed its linear distribution deal with NBC Sports Group through the '25-26 season in a deal that will deliver a “mid-seven figure impact” on the NGB’s annual revenue, according to CMO Ramsey Baker. Unlike the current NBC-USFS deal that roughly splits control over media sales for figure skating broadcasts, the extension calls for USFS and its exclusive sales agent, Van Wagner Sports & Entertainment, to sell the entire inventory. “We have doubled our inventory that we’re going to be able to offer our partners,” Baker said. USFS also announced today it has renewed its relationship with Van Wagner, first started in ’08, through '26. Figure skating becomes the latest NGB to enter into a long-term contract with NBC covering multiple Olympic cycles as the network strengthens its hold on Olympic sports, following USA Track & Field, USA Swimming and USA Gymnastics. The extension calls for at least 80 hours of linear figure skating coverage on NBC and NBCSN each season, including a minimum of 33 hours on the broadcast channel, along with four hours of speed skating events. The package includes USFS-owned events such as the U.S. Championships, but also includes Int'l Skating Union events that the USFS controls through ’26. Today's announcement does not include digital rights, which are covered under an agreement with Ice Network and BAM Tech that expires June 30. NBC and USFS said further details regarding digital distribution will be announced soon. In addition to the NBC and NBCSN inventory, USFS and Van Wagner will continue to sell sponsorship assets to Figure Skating, including event entitlements, camera-visible rink board signs, content integrations, digital/social extensions and more.
