Twitch Signs Multiyear Deal To Live Stream NBA 2K League

Twitch has reached a multiyear deal with the NBA 2K League to live stream the upcoming esports property, which is set to debut May 1. This marks the first media rights deal for the startup esports entity. Twitch also shows NBA G League games and handled the inaugural NBA 2K League draft on April 4. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver at that time said the league was in “deep discussions” with Twitch over showing NBA 2K League games. Financial terms were not disclosed, but all games will be free to fans on both a live and on-demand basis. “This is a groundbreaking partnership for the NBA 2K League,” said NBA 2K League Managing Dir Brendan Donohue. “Twitch shares our innovative spirit and commitment to putting the gaming community first.” Twitch will gain status as a founding partner of the NBA 2K League and its official live streaming partner. The streams themselves will include a variety of custom overlays to boost fan engagement.
