Bucks Likely To Retain At Least Two Big Sponsors At New Arena

Potawatomi Hotel & Casino is negotiating a long-term presence at the new arenaGETTY IMAGES

BMO Harris Bradley Center sponsors Northwestern Mutual and Potawatomi Hotel & Casino are "likely to continue" at the Bucks' new arena, but Kohl's is "not" likely to come along, according to Rich Kirchen of the MILWAUKEE BUSINESS JOURNAL. The department store brand "won’t have a permanent identity inside the new arena, but likely will be involved in short-term marketing-related activities." Kohl’s has been one of the "corporate-gate sponsors at the BMO Harris Bradley Center." The “foundational sponsors” the Bucks have already announced for the new arena are Johnson Controls, MillerCoors, Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin and BMO Harris Bank. Bucks President Peter Feigin said that the team will "'continue to talk with' Northwestern Mutual but haven’t finalized plans at the new arena." Northwestern Mutual Media & PR Dir Betsy Hoylma said that the company has "not changed its previously stated position of not pursuing the overall naming rights for the new arena." Potawatomi External PR Manager Ryan Amundson said that they are "negotiating with the Bucks for a long-term presence at the new arena" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 3/30).

COME TOGETHER: In Milwaukee, James Nelson notes the Bucks want to "include a 2,000-square-foot building as part of their beer garden 'connector'" near the arena plaza. The addition of the building was "disclosed in documents filed with the city seeking changes to the development plan for the 'entertainment block,' the cluster of buildings that the Bucks are constructing on the east side" of the new arena (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 3/31).
