Braves Promote Derek Schiller, Mike Plant To CEO Positions

The Braves made a "series of front-office changes Thursday," including the elevation of President of Business DEREK SCHILLER and President of Development MIKE PLANT to CEO positions and the hiring of a new CFO, according to Tim Tucker of the ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION. Schiller will get a new title of President & CEO of the Braves, with "responsibility for the day-to-day oversight of all business functions of the team." Plant will become President & CEO of Braves Development, with "day-to-day oversight of all business functions of the organization’s development arm, which includes The Battery Atlanta." TERRY MCGUIRK will remain Chair of the Braves and Braves Development. Schiller and Plant will "continue to report to McGuirk, who previously also held the CEO title" (AJC.com, 3/22). In Atlanta, Mark Meltzer noted McKesson Technology Solutions Senior VP & CFO JILL ROBINSON will be Exec VP & CFO of Braves Holdings, with "financial oversight" for both the Braves and Braves Development (BIZJOURNALS.com, 3/22).
