MOTORSPORT.com's Tom Errington notes NASCAR driver Matt DiBenedetto was "able to secure three new sponsors" thanks to financial donations made this week by Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick and Darrell Waltrip. DiBenedetto's GoFas Racing said that their donations helped him land "Zynga Poker, Enlisted Nine Fight Company [and] Pit Stops for Hope" for this Sunday's Monster Energy Cup Series race at ISM Raceway in Phoenix (MOTORSPORT.com, 3/8).

END OF AN ERA: In Atlanta, Ken Sugiura notes Georgia Tech's loss to Boston College at the ACC Tournament on Tuesday "represented the end of the athletic department's partnership with Russell Athletic." While GT's spring-sport teams "will continue to wear Russell Athletic gear through the ends of their seasons," the next time that most fans will see a game in person or on TV "likely will occur in the football season." By then the team will be "clad in Adidas uniforms and cleats." The school's contract with Adidas begins July 1 (AJC.com, 3/7).

BEING A TEASE: MASHABLE's Adam Rosenberg noted it is a "little early" for a formal reveal, but suspicions about what is next for the "Call of Duty" video game series are "running high" thanks to Rockets G James Harden. He "was spotted wearing a baseball cap featuring a minimalistic logo that apes the style of previous logos" in the "Call of Duty: Black Ops" series (MASHABLE.com, 3/7).
