Overnight Ratings: Mixed Bag For Big Ten Tournament On CBS

CBS yesterday afternoon drew a 2.1 overnight rating for Michigan's win over Purdue in the Big Ten Championship. That number is down 12% from a 2.4 for last year's Big Ten title game between Michigan and Wisconsin, which aired a week later. The Boston market was not included yesterday due to a winter storm in the northeast. On Saturday afternoon, CBS drew a 1.7 overnight for the first Big Ten semifinal between Michigan and Michigan State, up 13% from a 1.5 last year despite both the Boston and Providence markets not being included due to the storm. CBS drew a 1.4 overnight Saturday for the second semifinal between Purdue and Penn State.

NOTES FROM SIN CITY: Fox yesterday earned a 2.8 overnight rating for Kevin Harvick’s win in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. That number is down from a 3.3 for last year’s race at LVMS, which aired a week later in the season. Two years ago, the race earned a 4.1 overnight on Fox.
