Twins Sign Deal To Sell Prince-Related Merchandise At Target Field

Inflatable Prince guitars will be given to the first 10,000 fans at the June 8 Twins game TWINS

The Twins have signed a deal to "sell Prince-related merchandise year-round, including hats, shirts and balls, plus they’re bringing back Prince Night for a second year," according to Olson & Riemenschneider of the Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE. The co-branding deal is "believed to be the first of its kind" in MLB. The new items "will be for sale exclusively at Target Field beginning with the home opener" April 5 against the Mariners. On June 8, the Twins "will play host to the second annual Prince Night." Additional Twins-Prince merch "will go on sale that night, which will also include a giveaway." The first 10,000 fans "will receive inflatable Prince guitars -- the purple one in the shape of his symbol." Twins’ retail provider Delaware North Sportservice "struck a deal with a company called Bravado," which was hired in last year by Prince's estate to "handle his merchandising and branding" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 2/27). Fog Creek Software CEO Anil Dash tweeted, "Really happy to see Minneapolis teams keeping Prince’s memory alive, and the estate support for this is fantastic."
