Centerplate Cutting Jobs With Levi's Stadium Deal Set To End

Centerplate, the food and beverage vendor at Levi’s Stadium, will "permanently eliminate 759 jobs in Santa Clara" after the 49ers "switched concession providers," according to George Avalos of the San Jose MERCURY NEWS. Among the "major categories affected: 154 bartenders and 139 suite attendants." Centerplate was the "first food and beverage services vendor at the stadium." Centerplate VP/HR David Winarski in a government filing wrote the company's service at Levi's Stadium "will cease" on or around April 15. Winarski: "The client has elected to contract with a different food service provider.” Avalos notes the 49ers "acknowledged the planned change at the stadium." The Centerplate contract "began sometime" in '14 (San Jose MERCURY NEWS, 2/27).
