Celtics G KYRIE IRVING "worked with Lionsgate Entertainment Company to turn" his Pepsi commercials into the new movie, "UNCLE DREW," set for release in theaters on June 29. In the TV spots, Irving "dresses as an elderly man who schools hoopers in the playground young enough to be his grandsons." The film was shot in Atlanta, and Irving said, "For me, 'Uncle Drew' has given me inspiration in terms of being able to convey my old soul through who he is and what he embodies as a character" (BOSTON GLOBE, 2/18).

CHARITY STRIPE: The Bruins Foundation and C PATRICE BERGERON "teamed up this week to host the team's first-ever charitable ping pong tournament, Pucks and Paddles." Others at the event included Bruins RW DAVID PASTRNAK and LW BRAD MARCHAND, as well asWBZ-FM radio hosts FRED TOETTCHERRICH SHERTENLIEB and JON WALLACH. Proceeds from the event at Royale Boston "benefited Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center" (BOSTON HERALD, 2/19)....About 200 donors "showed up Saturday afternoon to the annual Tackle Sickle Cell Blood Drive" at Robert Wood Johnson Univ. Hospital. The charity, founded by Patriots S DEVIN MCCOURTY and Browns CB JASON MCCOURTY, later hosted its Casino Night fundraiser inside Brown Recruiting Pavilion at High Point Solutions Stadium. The charity reached a "major milestone" and now has "raised a net of more than $500,000" for the Embrace Kids Foundation (NJ.com, 2/19)....T'Wolves C KARL-ANTHONY TOWNS and his parents have launched the KAT Team foundation, which will "create scholarships for young adults nationally and work to increase literacy in underserved communities” (STARTRIBUNE.com, 2/17).

NBA ALL-STAR NAMES: Bucks co-Owner MARC LASRY participated in the NBA Celebrity Game on Friday "with confidence." Lasry said of his goal for the game, "Really all you want to do is you don't want to embarrass yourself" (JSONLINE.com, 2/16)....Actor JACK NICHOLSON, rapper SNOOP DOGG, singer RIHANNA and comedian CHRIS ROCK were “among the many celebrities sitting courtside” at last night’s NBA ASG at Staples Center, along with FERGIE and ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER. ABC’s JIMMY KIMMEL, actor ANTHONY ANDERSON, Giants WR ODELL BECKHAM JR., CHANCE THE RAPPER, and film director SPIKE LEE were also in attendance. Patriots Owner ROBERT KRAFT “was also seen” (BOSTON GLOBE, 2/19).
