New Version Of MLB.TV Has Slightly Higher Price, New Catch-Up Feature

MLB.TV will go up in pricing by $3 this year, to $115.99MLB

MLBAM has begun marketing its flagship out-of-market streaming video product, MLB.TV, with a slightly increased price and a new catch-up feature on new versions of the Apple TV platform. The service, which debuted in ’02 and is the sports industry’s longest-running streaming product, was raised in price by $3 to $115.99. The increase is within the bounds of the ’16 settlement of the Garber case that allows up to a 3% annual price increase. A single-team version of MLB.TV is also available for $89.99, up from $87.49 last year. The catch-up feature on Apple TV will offer short highlight recaps during an in-progress live game. Similar to prior years, a single MLB.TV subscription will be accessible on more than 400 types of connected devices and again will be bundled with the MLB.com At Bat mobile application. MiLB.TV, carrying more than 5,500 minor league games, returns for an eighth season. Full-season pricing for the minor-league package is $49.99, unchanged from recent years. Subscribers of the MLB.TV package can add the minor league games for an additional $25.
