CAA Broadcast Agent Evan Dick Creates New Production Company

CAA broadcast agent Evan Dick, who represented multiple on-air personalities including ESPN's Jemele Hill, has left the agency to form a production and management company called Exit 39. Dick's planned departure to form his own business has been rumored in the industry for months, and he and CAA worked on transitioning his clients to other agents at CAA, Dick said. The vast majority of his clients will remain as clients of CAA, represented by other agents there, he said. "Not only was this amicable, but this is all in the family," Dick said. Exit 39 will be working with CAA on projects in the future, he said. The company is based in L.A. and is focused on creating premium scripted and non-scripted television shows with a sports focus. Dick will continue to represent Hill and some others broadcasters as a manager. CAA will continue to have a representation relationship with Hill. Dick joined CAA from ICM six years ago with powerful broadcast agent Nick Khan, who is co-head of CAA's television department. CAA declined comment on Dick's departure.
