Golden Knights Working To Recruit More National Advertisers

The Golden Knights are second in the NHL with 70 points, and President Kerry Bubolz said that the team has "mapped a business game plan to recruit national advertisers and brands to sponsor Golden Knights hockey and generate more revenues after this season," according to Alan Snel of LVSPORTSBIZ.com. The Golden Knights currently have "local and regional sponsorship deals with companies like The D Las Vegas casino hotel, City National Bank, Ed Bernstein, Credit One Bank and Cosmopolitan." But with the "unexpected first-year success in the NHL," the team has "garnered national, if not international, appeal." The Golden Knights brand "has value" after 49 games and the team atop the Western Conference. Snel noted the Triple-A PCL Las Vegas 51s in '19 plan to build a 10,000-seat ballpark next door to the Golden Knights’ training center and HQ, and Bubolz said that the new ballpark "will bring new fans to the site, which, in turn, will allow for the Golden Knights to increase their visibility." But Bubolz noted that he has "not spoken" with 51s President & COO Don Logan about "potential cross-promotional opportunities" (LVSPORTSBIZ.com, 1/31).

MY KIND OF TOWN: Golden Knights investor Joe Maloof said he used to "go back and forth" on whether Vegas "would be a great sports town for a team that we could call our own." Maloof: "But finally, after this has been brought here and what (Bill) Foley’s done with the team, it’s been spectacular. The city has responded." Maloof said of a potential NBA team in Vegas, “Eventually, a team could possibly make it here. I think right now, we have enough with the Knights and with the Raiders coming, and then the soccer. You know, it adds up. It takes a little bit away from everybody" (LVSPORTSBIZ.com, 2/1).
