CCM calls out Favre for allowing the other execs to misrepresent Sqor's social media followersTwitter

Pro Football HOFer BRETT FAVRE  is being "sued for allegedly helping to conspire with other business partners to fraudulently induce an investor" to put $16M into a "sports social media network that never took off." Callais Capital Management claims Favre and the executives of Sqor Sports "made a series of negligent and fraudulent misrepresentations to induce CCM to invest." CCM "calls out Favre for allowing the other execs to conflate Favre’s social media followers and fans with those of Sqor and misstating the influence of Sqor based on Favre’s own social media reach" (THEBLAST.com, 1/27). CCM sued Favre and his partners in Sqor Sports for $16.75M "plus damages." Sqor was "promoted as a way to connect fans with professional athletes and as a way for athletes to make money from their brands" (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 1/30).

THE BIG ONE: The NFL named Chinese pop star KRIS WU its "official Super Bowl LII ambassador for China." Wu will "perform live at Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon" (HOLLYWOODREPORTER.com, 1/28)....STING has "signed on to play the NFL Tailgate Party before the Super Bowl, along with country star DARIUS RUCKER." Portions of the performances "will be televised on NBC's 'Super Bowl LII Pregame Show,' and Sting will perform a tune with SHAGGY" (NYPOST.com, 1/29).

NAMES: ESPN Senior VP/Event & Studio Production STEPHANIE DRULEY and NBCU Exec VP & Chief Counsel KERRY BROCKHAGE are among this year's Multichannel News Wonder Women (MULTICHANNEL NEWS, 1/29 issue)....Gold Medal-winning U.S. swimmer DARA TORRES has "completed training this month to become an instructor for barre," a form of exercise that incorporates ballet movements. She plans to "become certified later this spring," to teach at the Bar Method franchise in Wellesley, Mass. Torres also bought a 50% "stake in the franchise" (BOSTONGLOBE.com, 1/30)....Lacrosse equipment manufacturer STX sued former execs from Lax World "earlier this month" saying in the lawsuit that the retailer owes STX “more than $89,000 for products it did not return after closing its stores” (BIZJOURNALS.com, 1/29)....The upcoming NBC sitcom “A.P. BIO,” which is set in Toledo, visited the city in November to “shoot scenes with cast members” at an ECHL Toledo Walleye game (Toledo BLADE, 1/28)....Bucks G MALCOLM BROGDON is featured on the cover of the February issue of Milwaukee’s Lifestyle Magazine (THE DAILY)....Thunder F CARMELO ANTHONY went to dinner at Ocean Prime in Troy, Mich., on Friday (NYPOST.com, 1/29).
