NFL Average Attendance Lowest Since '11; Chargers Down 56% At StubHub Center

NFL teams averaged 67,404 fans per game during the '17 regular season, marking the league's lowest average since '11 (67,394). Attendance this season also was down 3% from '16. The Chargers -- who relocated from San Diego to the much-smaller StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. -- averaged a league-low 25,336 fans, down more than 55% from the 57,025 per game during their final season at Qualcomm Stadium. The Cowboys set a new AT&T Stadium record with 92,722 fans per game this season, while the Jets led all AFC teams with 77,562 fans. The Falcons finished their inaugural season at Mercedes-Benz Stadium with 71,960 fans. The Rams were down over 23% in their second season at L.A. Memorial Coliseum, and the Bengals also saw a double-digit drop at Paul Brown Stadium. Despite a winless season, the Browns ended the season down less than 1% in average attendance at FirstEnergy Stadium. The league also hosted four regular-season games in London -- compared to three last season -- while the Raiders played a home game in Mexico City during each of the last two seasons.
