Overnight Ratings: Birmingham, Armed Forces Are Top-Rated Bowls From Christmas Weekend

Saturday afternoon's Birmingham Bowl and Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl were the top-rated college bowls over Christmas weekend. For the Birmingham Bowl on ESPN from 12:00-4:00pm ET, USF's win over Texas Tech drew a 2.2 overnight rating. Just after that game, Army's win over San Diego State in the Armed Forces Bowl on ESPN drew a 2.2 from 4:00-6:45pm. Last year, there were no Saturday afternoon bowls on Christmas weekend, as NFL games were played on Saturday to avoid the holiday.

The chart below lists overnight ratings from Christmas weekend sports telecasts on broadcast TV.
