FC Cincinnati Inks Jersey Sponsorship With With Mercy Health As MLS' Decision Looms
USL club FC Cincinnati today will unveil a kit/jersey deal with Ohio-based Mercy Health that is decidedly MLS-sized. Sources said that the 10-year pact -- five years plus an option for an additional five years -- is worth around $5M a year. FC Cincinnati is one of 12 finalists applying for an MLS expansion franchise, along with Charlotte, Detroit, Indianapolis, Nashville, Phoenix, Raleigh-Durham, Sacramento, St. Louis, San Antonio, San Diego and Tampa-St. Pete. A decision is expected in mid-December. The size of FC Cincinnati’s jersey deal size could be an indication of how to handicap that race. The second-year club topped USL in attendance during the '17 season, attracting 21,199 per game. Overall, the USL averaged 4,301 per game. Premier Partnerships helped broker the deal for FC Cincinnati.
