Buyers & Sellers: Texas Football Coach Tom Herman Purchases $6M Mansion In Austin

Texas football coach TOM HERMAN has purchased a $6M mansion in Austin. The 10,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style estate has a "vaulted entryway, arched doorways, a light-filled living room with beamed ceilings, wine room, and kitchen with walk-through pantry that opens to a family room." There is also a "game room, kids’ wing, guest suite, and master suite." The property "comes with 'resort-style amenities' such as a media room with wet bar, yoga studio, infinity pool with fountains, fire pit, and summer kitchen" (REALTOR.com, 9/21).

SELLERS IN CHICAGO: T'Wolves F JIMMY BUTLER has sold his six-bedroom, 10,000-square-foot mansion in Chicago's River North neighborhood for $4.6M. He first listed the property for $4.95M in July and then "cut his asking price" last month. The mansion has "5 1/2 baths, three fireplaces, an elevator, electric shades, a custom staircase, a 750-bottle wine cellar, a landscaped roof deck, a home theater, a workout room, two other outdoor spaces and an attached three-car garage" (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 9/21). Meanwhile, former NHLer RENE BOURQUE has sold his five-bedroom, 4,200-square-foot house in Chicago’s Roscoe Village neighborhood for $1.51M. The house has "3 1/2 baths; coffered ceilings; 5-inch-wide plank floors; custom window treatments; a kitchen with a breakfast nook, a butler’s pantry and a double-width center island with quartzite tops" (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 9/21).

MUSIC CITY MOVERS: Predators C RYAN JOHANSEN has paid $3.85M for a home in Oak Hill, Tenn., a suburb of Nashville. The 7,635-square-foot estate has "four bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms and sits on 3.23 acres" (TENNESSEAN.com, 9/27). Meanwhile, Predators D ROMAN JOSI has sold his 2,732-square-foot Nashville penthouse near Vanderbilt's main campus for $2.35M. The move came after he paid $2.37M for a 5,500-square-foot home in Nashville's Forest Hills neighborhood earlier this year (TENNESSEAN.com, 9/22).

DIAMOND ENGAGEMENTS: Red Sox manager JOHN FARRELL bought a 1,234-square-foot condo in Boston's Charlestown neighborhood for $1M from former NESN sports anchor KATHRYN TAPPEN. The condo features two bedrooms and two bathrooms (BOSTON GLOBE, 9/27)....Former MLBer AUBREY HUFF has relisted his five-bedroom house in San Diego's Rancho Pacifica neighborhood for $4.4M. A year ago he was asking for $4.1M. The Mediterranean-style home "stretches to slightly more than 8,100 square feet." An arched doorway "leads to a formal entry, where a fireplace sits behind a pair of stone pillars that frame the vaulted living room" (LATIMES.com, 9/22).

BE GONE WITH YOU: Warriors G NICK YOUNG has sold his Tarzana, Calif., mansion for $3.25M. The six-bedroom, eight-bath property "spans 6,630 square feet." It "features a game room, guest house, basketball court, outdoor kitchen among many other amenities" (MERCURYNEWS.com, 9/21)....Former NHLer ALEXANDER FROLOV has sold his home in Manhattan Beach for $2.75M. The Mediterranean-style spread, built in '99 for former NBAer SLAVA MEDVEDENKO, returned to market in June for $2.895M. Frolov bought the property in '06 for $2.299M. The custom two-story has an "open floor plan that includes a step-down entry, a vaulted-ceiling living room, a wet bar and a dining room" (LATIMES.com, 9/26).
