F1 CEO CHASE CAREY's remuneration is "heavily tied" to the financial performance of the organization he runs. Liberty President & CEO GREG MAFFEI said, "We don't plan to publish his contract, but I did want to share with you the fact that the substantial majority of Chase's compensation is performance-related, and tied into the operational performance of F1 directly" (MOTORSPORT.com, 8/10).

NAMES: NBA writer and radio host ETHAN SKOLNICK was "arrested Wednesday and charged with battery" in Florida. Skolnick reportedly was seen "punching a 70-year-old man in the face and arms." Skolnick has written for various outlets during his career and hosted a radio program on WAXY-AM, though he "left the show on July 31" (MIAMIHERALD.com, 8/10)....Former Nebraska and Pitt AD STEVE PEDERSON wrote a book titled "LOST IN AMBITION" that was released Aug. 1.
