Overnight Ratings: WGC, NASCAR Top Weekend; Women's British Open Rises

The final round of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational on CBS and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race from Watkins Glen Int’l on NBCSN led all sports telecasts over the weekend. Both telecasts drew a 1.9 overnight rating. The figure for the NASCAR race was down from last year, when it drew a 2.1 overnight on USA, as NBCSN carried Rio Games coverage in the same window. The Bridgestone Invitational also scored a 2.1 last year when it aired in early July to accommodate the Rio Games.

GREAT BRITAIN: The final round of the Ricoh Women’s British Open on NBC drew a 0.9 overnight yesterday, marking the event’s best figure since ABC drew a 1.3 overnight in ’06. It also was the best figure for a women’s golf event since the ’16 U.S. Women’s Open on Fox drew a 1.0.
