In N.Y., Keith Kelly notes a Time Inc. spokesperson yesterday confirmed the company is "looking to sell" Coastal Living, Sunset and Golf, "ending weeks of speculation." Golf was part of the '00 acquisition of Times Mirror Magazines for $475M, which also included Field & Stream, Yachting and TransWorld Snowboarding. All but Golf were "eventually sold off." Golf "remained in recent years under the Sports Illustrated Group" (N.Y. POST, 7/26).

BEHIND THE MIC
: In Chicago, John Silver notes CSN Chicago next week for the first time will "provide a Spanish-language telecast that will air exclusively on CSN+." Former White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen will "join veteran play-by-play announcer Rodrigo Arana" on Monday when the team plays the Blue Jays, while former MLBer Carlos Zambrano on Tuesday will "have his turn behind the mic" for the Cubs' game against the D-backs (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 7/26).

STILL THE BEST: CBS Chair, President & CEO Les Moonves noted the net's contract with the NFL runs through '22, and while digital rights are important, the NFL realizes viewers "can't live without broadcast television." Moonves: "The digital players become important but we are still the best way to get the NFL to the fans throughout the country" ("The Dan Sileo Show," XEPRS-AM, 7/21).

HYPING IT UP: HBO will "produce a two-part '24/7 Canelo/Golovkin' series" ahead of their Sept. 16 fight. The first episode will debut on Aug. 26 at 9:45pm ET, "immediately following the live HBO card that night headlined by Miguel Cotto-Yoshihiro Kamegai." The second show will air Sept. 9 at 1:00am, "immediately following the 'Boxing After Dark' tripleheader that begins" at 10:15pm (ESPN.com, 7/24).

TNT’s Stan Van Gundy, ESPN’s Tim Reed, NBA Playoffs and NFL Draft

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown. SBJ’s Tom Friend also joins the show to share his insights into NBA viewership trends.
