Richmond Int'l Raceway Allowing Fans To Attend NASCAR Driver-Crew Chief Meetings

NASCAR fans for the Monster Energy and Xfinity Series races at Richmond Int'l Raceway this September will be "permitted to attend driver-crew chief meetings" ahead of the events, according to Vic Dorr Jr. of the RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH. Track officials announced Thursday that spectators will be "admitted to competitor briefings for both races." The Xfinity driver-crew chief meeting is "open to fans holding a Virginia529 College Savings 250 ticket." The next day’s Federated Auto Parts 400 meeting is open to '17 Richmond Nation season ticket holders. Patrons who "renew their membership in conjunction" with the '18 early bird campaign will be "eligible for preferred seating in the front half of the facility." Track officials "anticipate attendance in excess of 6,000 at the Saturday meeting" (RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH, 7/7). The move comes after RIR in March hired Paul Heyman and his N.Y.-based Looking4Larry agency to handle marketing and promotion of the track's September races (THE DAILY).
