Dolphins' Landry Looks To Grow Marketability, Preps For Next Signature Backpack Rollout

Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry has emerged as the "Dolphins' biggest name," and now he "wants to be the biggest star in the NFL," according to Adam Beasley of the MIAMI HERALD. Landry is a "marketer's dream." He has "panache" and "moxie." N.Y.-based fashion brand Sprayground is "about to release its second Landry custom backpack" in two years, priced at $80 each. Sprayground Founder David Ben-David said, "He’s a killer fashion dude." Beasley noted Landry will "celebrate the bag’s release on July 10 with a party at Simon’s Sportswear in Miami, giving fans who buy one a chance to hang out with him." It is a "fitting event for the outgoing Landry; he rarely turns down a chance to spend time with his people." Landry is a "free spirit who dresses the way he does, wears his hair the way he does and carries himself the way he does because it simply feels right." While the company "wouldn’t say how many bags have been produced, Landry’s limited run did sell out last year." Meanwhile, Landry has an independent clothing line that is "not affiliated with the NFL." Landry said that "all proceeds go to his foundation to help those in need in his native Louisiana" (MIAMI HERALD, 7/1).
