Overnight Ratings: ABC Sees Mixed NBA Bag; NASCAR, PGA Tour Down Again On Sunday

ABC yesterday afternoon drew a 3.9 overnight for the Cavaliers’ sweep of the Raptors in the NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals, up slightly from the Cavs’ sweep of the Hawks in the same window last year (3.8 overnight). ABC on Saturday night drew a 4.2 overnight for Warriors-Jazz Game 3, down slightly from a 4.3 for Warriors-Trail Blazers in the same window last year.

ALABAMA SLAMMA: Fox yesterday afternoon drew a 3.4 overnight rating for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race from Talladega, down from a 3.8 for the same race last year, which started an hour earlier. With the drop for Talladega, seven Cup races have now seen year-over-year declines. The race also drew a 3.8 in ’15.

13 REASONS WHY: CBS drew a 1.6 overnight for the final round of the Wells Fargo Championship, which saw Brian Harman win by one stroke over Dustin Johnson and Pat Perez. That marks the 13th straight PGA Tour event (including Masters, excluding Zurich Classic due to weather) to see a drop for Sunday. The 1.6 is down from a 2.0 last year, when James Hahn beat Roberto Castro in a playoff.

The chart below lists overnight ratings from weekend sports telecasts on broadcast TV.
