Rod Wood Hopeful That Lions Will Be Able To Wear All Four New Jerseys In '17

Lions President Rod Wood said that the team will "wear at least three and hopefully all four of its new jerseys in games this fall," according to Dave Birkett of the DETROIT FREE PRESS. Color Rush jerseys are "typically earmarked for Thursday night games, and the Lions will find out when the schedule is released Thursday whether they have one on their schedule." If they do not, Wood said that the steel gray uniforms "could be worn on Thanksgiving." Wood said that the Lions' updated throwback uniforms "won't be used only for Thanksgiving games." Wood: "If we have a big primetime game it might be a possibility." Wood said that a big reason the Lions went through a complete uniform redesign was to "get rid of black from their color scheme" (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 4/16). In Detroit, Justin Rogers noted after the implementation of new HD video boards at Ford Field and the rebranding of the team’s logo and uniforms, Wood was "asked what’s next on his docket." Wood said, “I don’t have anything else other than getting this renovation done. That’s the thing I got to focus on getting done before the season starts" (DETROIT NEWS, 4/15).
