NBA Sets Attendance Record Three Seasons Running; Bulls Lead For Eighth Straight Time

The NBA set an attendance record for a third straight season with an average of 17,884 fans per game, up from 17,864 last season (+0.1%). The Bulls led all teams at the gate for the eighth consecutive season, drawing 21,680 fans per game at United Center. The Pistons saw average attendance dip 3.2% during the team’s final season at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Beginning next season, the club will join the Red Wings at the newly constructed Little Caesars Arena in downtown Detroit. The Kings increased their average attendance by 2% this season playing before sellout crowds during their first season at Golden 1 Center. The 76ers had a league-best increase (16.5%) at the gate this season, while the Rockets saw the sharpest drop among all NBA teams (-5.6%), despite finishing third in the Western Conference standings.
