MLB Unveils Full Lineup Of Uniforms For Special Events, Summer Holiday Weekends

MLB unveiled special event uniforms that will be worn during the spring and summer holiday weekends, as well as special MLB events during '17. For the first time, MLB teams will spend each holiday weekend -- Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day and Independence Day -- in the special uniforms. Additionally, players participating in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game and Gatorade All-Star Workout Day, which includes the T-Mobile Home Run Derby, will wear new Marlins-inspired uniforms. MLB worked with Authentic Collection partners Majestic, New Era and Stance to create the uniforms for each event. This is the first year players have the option to wear the socks for special-event holiday games. MLB also worked with Rawlings to create new stitching color patterns on special event balls (MLB). YAHOO SPORTS' Mike Oz noted for the second straight year, games played on Mother's Day weekend teams will "wear special pink-accented" gear. For Memorial Day weekend, this year's "looks are a little different." For the caps the "brims are camo and the crowns are a solid camo green." On Father's Day weekend, the caps will be "light blue" with "very sharp looking" uniforms. Meanwhile, Independence Day weekend will feature "stars and stripes" heavily on the gear as usual (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 4/11).
