Atlanta United FC Ready For Move To New $60M HQ; Season-Ticket Sales Going Well

AMB Group CEO Steve Cannon yesterday said that Atlanta United FC's HQ in Marietta "will soon officially welcome its residents," according to a front-page piece by Ross Williams of the MARIETTA DAILY JOURNAL. Cannon said, "As of this week, (Marietta) is the home of our soccer operations. Our staff, our trainers -- all of them are going to be relocating this week, and as of this week, that’s where we’ll find our home." Cannon said that the 37-acre, $60M facility is the "finest on the continent." He added that the metro Atlanta area "has a soccer culture that is ready to break through to the surface." Cannon: "Atlanta United is bringing an energy, a passion. It’s tapping into a groundswell of support that is absolutely remarkable." Meanwhile, Cannon said that the club is "setting records in every dimension, including ticket sales." He said that the team has "sold over 30,000 season tickets and has sold out Bobby Dodd Stadium at Georgia Tech twice." Cannon: "We want to be a contender from day one, in our team, and our style of play has shown that we’re not satisfied just to be an expansion team that knows its place at the bottom of the standings. We want to be that upstart expansion team that takes the league a little bit by storm" (MARIETTA DAILY JOURNAL, 4/11).
