Andretti Autosport Looking Elsewhere For Sponsorship In Wake Of HHGregg Bankruptcy

The financial woes of electronic and appliance retailer HHGregg have "forced Andretti Autosport to look elsewhere for sponsorship," according to Jim Ayello of the INDIANAPOLIS STAR. The team on Thursday announced that it is "transitioning the branding of Marco Andretti's No. 27 Honda to the blue and white of Pennsylvania-based tech company United Fiber & Data for a select number of races, beginning April 9" at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. The news comes "not long after Indianapolis-based HHGregg filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and shuttered 88 of its stores." HHGregg had "only recently partnered up with Andretti." The two "signed a multi-year pact at the beginning of this year after HHGregg sponsored the No. 27 car at last year's race at Barber (Ala.) Motorspors Park" (INDYSTAR.com, 3/30).
