Miller Park's $20M Concession Stand Upgrade To Be Completed By End Of March

Brewers COO Rick Schlesinger said that the $20M concession upgrade at Miller Park is "running ahead of schedule and will be complete" in advance of the team's exhibition game against the White Sox there March 31, according to Rich Kirchen of the MILWAUKEE BUSINESS JOURNAL. Miller Park Stadium District board members Tuesday "took their own tour of the progress on the project."  The tour consisted of a "walk-through at new concession stands on both the third-base side of the field-level and the first-base side of the loge level." On the field level, a "cluster of concession stands to be called the 'First Base Ward' includes A.J. Bombers hamburgers, Smoke Shack barbecue, Klement's sausages and J. Agave tacos and tequila." Also on the field level is a "custard stand with no concessionaire name but a logo for Wisconsin's dairy industry." A centerpiece of the field-level concession zone is a "bar with oversized signs featuring baseball-themed words like 'Boom' and 'Zing.'" On the loge level, the taco stand and Bombers "also are being finished as well as Zaffiro's Pizza." Additionally, the "decorating for the bar on the loge level, which will sell local craft beers, features wood paneling on the back wall as well as a wooden bar top." The Brewers' front office emphasized that this project is "privately funded" at the publicly owned ballpark. Milwaukee-based Uihlein-Wilson Architects is serving as the project architect and Hunzinger Construction is the general contractor (BIZJOURNALS.com, 3/9).
