Buyers & Sellers: Astros Owner Jim Crane Lists $37.9M Pebble Beach Mansion For Sale

Astros Owner JIM CRANE has put his home in Pebble Beach, Calif., on the market for $37.9M. The estate "sits on slightly more than nine acres and takes in ocean views." The main house was built in '51. Within the grounds is a "cabana, a pool house, a guesthouse and a caretaker's cottage." Formal living spaces "feature vaulted ceilings and walls of windows that bring in natural light." Other rooms include a "den/office, a library and a wine cellar." There are "eight bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and nine fireplaces in more than 11,900 square feet of combined living space." Crane bought the property in '98 for $5.5M (LATIMES.com, 2/2).

LISTING AGENT: Former MLBer KERRY WOOD placed his Chicago mansion back on the market for $3.25M after "taking it off" in late '15. Wood was asking for $3.595M in '15 and "later reduced it." He then "put it up for rent" at $12,500 a month. The five-bedroom mansion has "six baths, a butler's pantry, a family room on the lower level, a craft room, an office and a rooftop terrace" (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 2/2)....Wizards coach SCOTT BROOKS has listed a home in Corona del Mar, Calif., for sale at $2.6M. The house has a "double-height entry with a curving wooden staircase that opens to the sunken living room." It also includes "vaulted and beamed ceilings, hardwood floors and modern fixtures." The 2,660-square-foot house has "four bedrooms and three bathrooms" (LATIMES.com, 2/8).

BUYERS & SELLERS: Chargers TE ANTONIO GATES has listed his home in Poway, Calif., for sale at $2.495M. Set on an acre of grounds, the "fenced and gated estate is amped up with a lighted basketball court and a saltwater swimming pool with a multiple waterfall features." The more than 6,800 square feet of living space includes a "kitchen with an oversized island that opens to the great room." It also has a "library/study, five bedrooms and seven bathrooms." Gates bought the house in '06 for $2.55M (LATIMES.com, 2/8)....CSN Philadelphia's JOHN KRUK put his home in Naples, Fla., on the market for $2.795M. The house has "five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a pool and a big, well-landscaped backyard" (PHILLY.com, 2/6)....Gold Medal-winning U.S. beach volleyball player KERRI WALSH-JENNINGS and her husband have purchased a new home in Manhattan Beach, Calif., for $2.6M. Jennings purchased the home "prior to completion," allowing her to "customize the multi-level property." The nearly 3,600-square-foot house has "five bedrooms and five bathrooms." Two large terraces "extend from the second level for indoor-outdoor living and entertaining" (LATIMES.com, 2/7).
