NBC Olympics  promoted Senior VP/Programming PETER DIAMOND to Exec VP, a move reflecting his growing portfolio. He will now report to NBC Olympics Exec Producer JIM BELL. Diamond will continue to be in charge of NBC's coverage of the Games, which has expanded as NBCU grows its digital footprint. He also oversees Olympic sports year-round, a job that grew after NBC acquired rights owned by defunct Universal Sports Network late last year (Ben Fischer, Staff Writer).

EXECS: Sources said that the Orioles are "close to hiring" former Padres and Mets GM JOE MCILVAINE as a special assistant to Exec VP DAN DUQUETTE. His priorities "will be to help the club scout for the upcoming amateur draft in June, as well as train young scouts and front-office personnel" (BALTIMORESUN.com, 1/26)....The Falcons named former Bears GM PHIL EMERY and former Titans GM RUSTON WEBSTER national scouts, where "they'll both predominantly handle college scouting duties" (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 1/26). After hiring Emery and Webster, the Falcons now employ five former GMs (AJC.com, 1/26)....Former Univ. of Wisconsin-Stevens Point AD FRANK O'BRIEN will return to the role on a interim basis after current AD DARON MONTGOMERY accepted the same position at St. Anselm College (UWSP)....Executive search firm Prodigy Sports named MEGAN MEISSE Coordinator (THE DAILY).
