One-car NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team Tommy Baldwin Racing yesterday announced a multiyear extension with primary sponsor Toy State that gives the organization perhaps its first legitimate sense of stability since entering the sport in ’09. Toy State, which entered the sport this past season with 10 races as primary sponsor, will grow that tally incrementally to 13 primary sponsorships in ’16 and 17 in ’17. The company, which pushed its Nikko RC and Road Ripper brands last year, will increase the variety of paint schemes it runs around its myriad brands to a larger extent this year (Adam Stern, Staff Writer).

LEGAL BRIEF: Former MLBer Derek Jeter is "in a legal slugfest with the underwear brand Frigo, and the company now claims he balked on the agreement because the bawdy briefs were 'too gay.'” The Swedish line, owned by RevolutionWear, says the company lost $30M when Jeter "backed out of an arrangement to endorse Frigo and act as a company director" (N.Y. POST, 12/16).

NOTES: CLC has signed a 10-year extension of its deal with BYU to continue managing the school's trademark licensing program. CLC has been working with BYU since '81 (CLC)....Apparel brand Woman Within announced the launch of the NFL Fan Shop, a 32-piece assortment of licensed apparel for both men and women (Woman Within).
