World TeamTennis Austin Aces Owner Lorne Abony said that the team "will move to Newport Beach, Calif., and compete" during the '16 season as the Orange County Breakers, according to Sean Shapiro of the AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN. Abony purchased the Breakers in '13 and "moved them to Austin" before the '14 season. The Aces' promotional efforts in '14 "centered on Austin native Andy Roddick," but the team "failed to qualify for the playoffs." The Aces also "never found the right venue in Austin," playing in "two different locales during their time in Central Texas." Officials with a venue that has "yet to be announced reached out to the Aces and fit what Abony sought." Aces GM Allen Hardison said, "It really makes the move an easy decision when you look at the venue. And the venue and the venue deal are important to how a franchise makes money" (
