Astros Will Raise Season-Ticket Prices For '16 As Team Improves On Field

The Astros on Friday said that season-ticket prices in '16 "will increase" for current and new season-ticket holders, according to David Barron of the HOUSTON CHRONICLE. A team spokesperson said that prices "will increase on average by under" 10% for current season-ticket holders, "not including the Diamond Club and Insperity Club premium seating sections." In the top non-premium category -- for seats behind both dugouts closest to the field -- prices "will climb to $75 per game, up from $66 per game, an increase of about" 13%, for new season-ticket customers. For renewals, the price "will go from $60" in '15 to "$67 per game, increasing by about" 11%. Crawford Boxes prices in '16 "will go from $35 per game for current season ticket holders to $38 per game," an increase of about 8%. On a full-season basis, prices for new season-ticket holders in '16 "will range from $996" in the upper deck to $6,225 per seat for dugout boxes. On the premium-seating front, Diamond Club seats for new customers in '16 "will cost $425 per game or $35,275 for the season, and Insperity Club tickets will be $200 per game or $16,600 for the season." The Astros through July 30 have seen a 32% increase "over their 44 wins" last season, and attendance is up this season to 25,746 per game from 21,627 last season (CHRON.com, 7/31).
