Harris Poll: Yanks, Red Sox Still Favorite MLB Teams, While Royals, Giants See Decline

Among those who follow baseball, the Yankees are the most popular MLB club, and have now held that distinction every year since '03, according to results of a recent Harris Poll. The Red Sox are again the second favorite team among U.S. adults, having held the No. 2 spot since '09. Rounding out the top five are the Cubs, Dodgers and Tigers. Despite appearing in the '14 World Series, the Giants and Royals saw the sharpest declines in popularity among all clubs. The Giants fell to No. 10 this year after ranking third in last year's poll, while the Royals ranked 19th after coming in 10th in '14. The Angels saw the biggest gain among all clubs, jumping 14 spots to No. 12 this year. The '15 Harris Poll was conducted online from June 17-22 among 2,200 U.S. adults, 700 of whom said they follow MLB (Harris Poll).
