Seattle Sports Market Proving To Be A Boon For Last-Minute Ticket App Gametime

S.F.-based last-minute ticket app developer Gametime first offered Mariners tickets in March and "about 400 per game are now sold," according to Geoff Baker of the SEATTLE TIMES. Sounders FC and Seahawks games "are also now offered” by Gametime, which began in the Seattle market just four months ago. Gametime Founder & CEO Brad Griffith said even though Seattle "was like our 20th city," it is now “our third largest in terms of volume.” Baker writes Gametime's "high-res display and simplified purchase process" sets it apart from competitors like ReplyBuy and The Experience App. Griffith is hoping the app “does for ticket resale what Uber did for taxi users.” Gametime’s bar-coding technology lets users get tickets "immediately” and makes sure the buyer only sees the "best ‘values’ from each section according to location and price” (SEATTLE TIMES, 7/5).
