NHL Attendance Flat For '14-15; Isles Up 10% During Last Season On Long Island

NHL teams averaged 17,444 fans per game this season, relatively flat compared to the '13-14 campaign. The Canadiens continued to lead all Eastern Conference clubs, averaging 21,287 at Bell Centre. The Red Wings, Maple Leafs, Penguins, Capitals, Rangers and Bruins also were at or above capacity for their respective home venues. During the final season of NHL hockey on Long Island, the Islanders averaged 15,355 fans per game, up 10% from last season. Meanwhile, the Panthers and Hurricanes both saw sharp drops at the gate, down 22% and 18%, respectively. See tomorrow's issue for Western Conference figures (THE DAILY).
