Buyers & Sellers: Jets' Woody Johnson Gets Record $77.5M For Manhattan Apartment

Access Industries Chair LEN BLAVATNIK bought an apartment on Fifth Avenue from NFL Jets Owner WOODY JOHNSON for $77.5M, "a record price for a Manhattan co-op" (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 3/26)....Golfer FRED COUPLES sold his Brentwood, Calif., home in an "off-market deal for slightly more than" $6M. Records show that Couples purchased the home in '12 from former Clippers coach MIKE DUNLEAVY SR. for $4.557M (LATIMES.com, 3/23)....Former NFLer DANA STUBBLEFIELD sold his San Jose home for $1.65M. The 3,350-square-foot residence has a "center-island kitchen with custom cabinetry and a bonus room/gym," as well as "five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms" (LATIMES.com, 3/24)....Free agent RB RAY RICE's home in Reisterstown, Md., "is under contract." The home "was listed for $899,000" (BALTIMORESUN.com, 3/26).

NEW HOME OWNERS: Yankees RF CARLOS BELTRAN purchased a N.Y. penthouse at 300 E. 79th St. and Second Avenue "under the guise of an LLC" for $9.38M, "significantly less than" the $10M price tag. The penthouse has a "private 650-square-foot rooftop terrace, five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a dining room, a library, a media room and a grand staircase" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 3/24)....Golfer JORDAN SPIETH recently purchased a five-bedroom, 7,378-square-foot home "in the Dallas suburbs" for just over $2.2M, complete with a "288-bottle wine closet and a putting green outside" (GOLFDIGEST.com, 3/24)....Orlando City SC MF KAKA purchased a $3.4M, six-bedroom home in the "exclusive Isleworth neighborhood" (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 3/26).

ON THE MARKET: Former MLBer JOHNNY DAMON "has put his waterfront home in Windermere, Fla., on the market" for $2.35M. The property sits on "more than half an acre" and has a 6,166-square-foot main house with four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms (LATIMES.com, 3/24)....Clippers G J.J. REDICK listed his home in Austin, Texas, for $6.9M -- "nearly double what the home sold for" in '12. The property sits on "more than an acre" and has 9,479 square feet of living space, including six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms (LATIMES.com, 3/26)....Flyers C VINCENT LECAVALIER's Davis Islands home in Tampa "went on the market Monday" for $4.5M. The 7,636-square-foot Mediterranean-style mansion was built in '05 and has a "climate-controlled wine room, a workout room [and] six bedrooms" (TAMPA BAY TIMES, 3/25)....Heat F CHRIS BOSH "has chopped" $1.5M off the asking for his home in Pacific Palisades, Calif. The price for the 10,800-square-foot residence sitting on 1.45 acres was reduced to $11M. Bosh purchased the home in '12 for $9.4M. In addition to the new asking price, it is also "available for lease at $45,000 a month" (LATIMES.com, 3/26).
