GOLFWEEK's Beth Ann Nichols reported golfer Stacy Lewis, KPMG and the Amateur Junior Golf Association "announced a first-of-its-kind format for the KPMG Stacy Lewis Junior All-Star Invitational, a 54-hole, stroke-play championship at Blessings Golf Club in Johnson, Ark., on June 22-25." The top 64 juniors (32 boys and 32 girls) "will play in mixed pairings to determine the Boys and Girls Division champions as well as a new boys-versus-girls team competition." Lewis was a finance and accounting double major at the Univ. of Arkansas, and "proceeds from the AJGA event will benefit a KPMG-Stacy Lewis women’s finance and accounting internship endowment" (GOLFWEEK.com, 3/25).

THE SHOE DROPS: In Portland, Allan Brettman cited a proposed schedule filed Tuesday in federal court showing that a copyright infringement suit brought by photographer Jacobus Rentmeester against Nike "wouldn't be heard by a jury" until June '16 at the earliest. It remains "possible there will be an outcome in the case before then." Nike "has filed a motion seeking to have the court dismiss the case entirely, arguing Rentmeester's assertions lack merit." A settlement also "could be reached out of court" before June '16 (Portland OREGONIAN, 3/25).

BACKHAND SMASH: The ATP/WTA Miami Open and Lacoste this year for the first time had a "stylish tournament-branded collection" of casual apparel and footwear "sold in retail outlets prior to the tournament." Lacoste this week "will launch" the collection in stores. It is the "first time the co-branded collection will be obtainable to the public, outside the stadium grounds" (TENNIS.com, 3/25).

WAX ON: Oklahoma-based Widow Wax Products has joined Front Row Motorsports as an official car detailing partner for the '15 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season (Front Row Motorsports).
