Tiger Woods, Trump Organization Teaming Up For New Golf Course In Dubai

Tiger Woods plans to "design a new, state-of-the-art golf course development in Dubai, after his first attempt ended up in the rough," according to Anna White of the London TELEGRAPH. The 18-hole course in Dubai will "be built by Damac Properties and operated" by The Trump Organization and will be called the "Trump World Golf Club, Dubai." Woods' first Dubai course design "was axed as a result of the property downturn." Woods also has "designed projects" in Mexico and the U.S. His "first course to open for play will be El Cardonal in Mexico, which is scheduled to open before the end of the year" (London TELEGRAPH, 12/10). The AP's Doug Ferguson noted site preparation work in Dubai "already is underway, and the course is to open" by the end of '17 (AP, 12/9). GOLFCHANNEL.com noted Woods' first U.S. design, the Cliffs at High Carolina outside of Asheville, N.C., "is on hold" (GOLFCHANNEL.com, 12/9).
