Weekend Plans With Reebok's Erica Crowe Tappin: Wedded Bliss, Fashion Fixes, Brunch

Planning a wedding is perhaps the most stressful time in one's life. But for Reebok Sports Licensed Division NHL Marketing Manager ERICA CROWE TAPPIN, the task was even more strenuous. Between planning her October wedding and subsequent honeymoon in Bali, she managed to continue coordinating national campaigns and key NHL event activation for teams and retailers in the U.S. and Canada without skipping a beat. It has been an eventful year for her, to say the least. Crowe Tappin said, "The best weekend I've had in recent memory is my wedding, of course; a dreamy weekend in Martha's Vineyard with all my friends and family. It was perfect." Here, she tells THE DAILY how she and her new husband plan to unwind at their Boston residence this December weekend.

SAVE THE DATE: Friday is Sushi date night with my husband, but we'll probably get takeout because he has been on the road all week. The latest I sleep in on a weekend is usually between 8:30-9:00am; I really value my sleep. When I wake up, the first thing I do is immediately make coffee and check my e-mail. I usually have to be somewhere, but if we don't, we'll have a casual breakfast at home. My favorite breakfast spot is Panificio on Charles Street; they have the most amazing strawberry jam. I watch the news every morning to know what is going on that day or my husband will change it to "SPORTSCENTER." I also enjoy reading CNN.com on my iPad or reaching some new place on Tripadvisor.com. I get my fashion fix on Instagram. I follow a bunch of fashion bloggers. I use Instagram to get visually inspired and Facebook to keep in touch with friends.

GREATEST LOVE OF ALL: On Saturday I have a family birthday party at my mother's home on the North Shore and then we're going out to dinner with friends in the city afterwards. Although the weeks are usually filled with sports watching, I'll end up watching my Bruins whenever they play on the weekend. My husband and I typically don’t miss a game. I'm usually catching up on "ANTHONY BOURDAIN: PARTS UKNOWN" or binge watching something on Netflix. "HOUSE OF CARDS" can't come back soon enough. I'm obsessed with golf. If I get a warm weather weekend getaway, I'll definitely try to get a round in. I got to play at Pebble Beach this past year at the NHLPA golf tournament and have been even more obsessed ever since. I find it to be a huge stress reliever and played a lot with my Dad and my husband this summer to take my mind off all the wedding to-dos.

SOMETHING OLD: My husband is a much better cook, but I can make a mean shrimp stir fry. I'm really lucky that he is such a good cook because I'm not so good. I burn a lot of stuff. He makes really good braised short ribs. We try to eat healthy by making a lot of fish and stuff at home because we eat out a lot on the road. My favorite local spot is 75 Chestnut. It's a neighborhood spot -- been there for a long time -- it kind of feels like you are in someone's home. They have this dish called the Nantucket Stew. It is a good cold-weather spot, very cozy. I love going to The Liberty Hotel -- which used to be the Charles Street Jail. It's a really hip place near the TD Garden. Their Alibi bar has all these old mugshots of celebrities and even the original bars on the windows.

SOMETHING NEW: I love to travel. My favorite spots on the road are Joe Beef in Montreal, the Dream Downtown roof deck in N.Y. and Joan's on Third in L.A. When I'm traveling and have free time, I like to explore the city I'm in. I will just leave the hotel and walk around to discover new things. On a plane, I still love magazines; Women's Health is a go-to. I'd say my favorite weekend getaway this time of year is a snowboard trip to Vermont. Bali was amazingly beautiful. It was totally different than either of us had ever experienced. We wanted to go on an adventure more than a relaxing vacation. It's been hard to get back in the swing of things especially since I flew straight to a photo shoot for the NHL Winter Classic on my first day back.

SOMETHING BORROWED: When I'm not working on weekends, I love taking walks through the public garden and around the city or going for a run on the esplanade and just hanging with friends. I always try to make room for exercise, even if I'm crazy busy. I know I'll feel better and be more productive if I get a workout in. I usually workout on my lunch hour during the week, we have these really amazing classes here at Reebok. If I do workout it's at Bikram yoga or Flywheel.

SOMETHING BLUE: On Sunday, I am going to brunch with my girlfriends followed by writing lots of thank you notes. It's going to take a long time, but it's worth it; I have a lot of people to thank. My routine weekend chores include cleaning up my apartment and typically unpacking or repacking. I would say grocery shopping, but we never have groceries. I always try to have dinner at home Sunday night. It's a good way to relax and eat well especially if I'll be on the road during the week. I check my e-mails all weekend; it is sort of the new way people work. I will definitely look at my Outlook calendar for Monday so I can get a heads-up on what meeting I have and things to prepare for.
