NBC Promoting Its Sports Live Extra Streaming Platform With New TV Campaign

NBC Sports this weekend will debut a new TV campaign to promote NBC Sports Live Extra, marking the first time it has developed a major marketing initiative behind its live streaming platform. A trio of spots, promoting NBC's live streaming of NFL, EPL and NHL coverage, will feature prominent network voices such as Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth, Mike Emrick and Arlo White. The effort was developed in-house by the NBC Sports Agency, led by NBC Sports Group CMO John Miller, Senior VP/Marketing Bill Bergofin and NBC Sports Digital Senior VP & GM Rick Cordella. "Our live streaming and digital business has reached critical mass, it's a significant part of our operation, and it was important that we do this to remind people of what we have, particularly at this time of year," Miller said. "This was simply the right time with the right creative idea." The spots will run across the NBC Sports portfolio, including NBC and NBCSN. The net is also seeking to air them on partner outlets such as Comcast RSNs and Yahoo. Future spots to showcase other elements of NBC Sports Live Extra's programming, such as its golf coverage, will likely be developed as well.
