NBA Season Preview

NBA Media Notes: "Inside The NBA" Host Ernie Johnson Dishes On Past, Future

NBA.com's Lang Whitaker noted the '14-15 NBA season marks the 25th year that TNT's Ernie Johnson "has been the man in the middle of it all" as the host of “Inside the NBA.” Johnson, when asked how working with analysts Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal and Kenny Smith has changed through the years, said, "I don’t think it’s changed very much. The first night that we ever did a show, Kenny and Charles walked out, and Charles asked Kenny what he was going to say about something, and Kenny said, 'You’ll find out.' And that hasn’t changed. That’s been the way we do business." Johnson said of how long he thinks the cast can continue with the show, "I didn’t think we’d be here today. Because what was it, 2000 when we started? I thought, you know what, when the novelty wears off for Charles, whatever time we can get and have the chance to work together, it’ll be fun. I never thought that coming into the 2014-15 season, we’d be talking about, 'Here comes another year with all of us'” (NBA.com, 10/28).

HOOP DREAMS: ESPN yesterday announced Brad Daugherty will serve as an NBA and college basketball analyst beginning in November. Daugherty will appear regularly on "NBA Tonight," "NBA Coast to Coast," "SportsCenter" and on additional programming. He will also serve as an analyst for most games in ESPNU’s ACC Sunday night package, in addition to other select games, beginning Dec. 1 (ESPN).

SUNNY DAY: The Suns yesterday announced a new multiyear agreement with flagship radio station KMVP-FM. The '14-15 season marks the 39th consecutive season that the station will broadcast Suns basketball (Suns).
