Survey Finds College Football Playoff Creates More Interesting Postseason

One-fifth of the respondents in a recent nationwide survey conducted by Civic Science on behalf of SportsBusiness Daily/Journal said college football’s new playoff system makes the postseason more interesting. Pittsburgh-based Civic Science operates real-time, in-market reader surveys for more than 350 news outlets, content, and social networks nationwide.

More - 17%
Less - 28%
The same - 54%

Men are more likely to say they are “More” interested in the upcoming college football season than in the past (22% of men vs. 13 of women say “More”).

Men are more likely than women to say “Yes” that college athletes should be paid to play (33% of men say this vs. 22% of women). People who live in urban areas are more likely to say “Yes” (34% compared to 24% for suburbs and 20% for rural).
