James Dolan Tops N.Y. Daily News' List Of Most Powerful Sports Figures In Big Apple

The N.Y. DAILY NEWS has deemed MSG Chair JAMES DOLAN the "most powerful" person in N.Y. sports. The Daily News polled several of its staffers, as well as “authorities from around the country,” to determine which area personality “wields the most power, and registers the greatest impact -- economically, socially, politically -- across the New York sports landscape.” Dolan owns Cablevision, as well as the Knicks, Rangers, WNBA Liberty and MSG, and while Nets Owner MIKHAIL PROKHOROV “may have more money than 20 Dolans,” the MSG Chair “still owns the city in pretty much everything else." The paper writes, "Power? Influence? Meddlesome? Controversial? James Dolan is all that and more, and we haven't even gotten to his penchant for smothering the media" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 7/24).
