Oklahoma AD JOE CASTIGLIONE was named NCAA D-I Men's Basketball Committee Chair for the '15-16 season. The position is nominated and selected by committee members, who each "serve five-year terms." When he joined the committee, Castiglione was finishing out former Big 12 Commissioner DAN BEEBE's term and was "subsequently selected for a term of his own." Chairs serve one-year terms and he will serve the '14-15 season as Vice Chair (NEWSOK.com, 7/18).

GENERAL SHERMAN: Seahawks CB RICHARD SHERMAN's charity softball game at Safeco Field yesterday had an announced crowd of 22,000.
