In L.A., James Rainey reports a trial into whether Clippers co-Owner Rochelle Sterling had the right to sell the Clippers “will not focus on her husband’s mental capacity, but instead will review if she acted properly under the terms of a family trust" and if banned Clippers Owner Donald Sterling could "legally kill the deal after it appeared set.” The “sharply narrowed parameters for the July 7 trial, which both sides agreed to, mean there will not be dueling experts testifying” whether Donald Sterling “suffers from Alzheimer's disease or dementia that purportedly left him unfit to run his business empire.” Instead, Donald Sterling's lawyers will "try to prove that his wife used undue influence or fraud to get him to consult with two psychiatrists, who found him mentally incapacitated” (L.A. TIMES, 7/1).

FOLLOW THE LEADER: In Toronto, John Kryk reports Rogers Communications Deputy Chair Edward Rogers “will not lead a second Toronto bid group aiming to buy” the Bills. JUST WIN, BABY: In Milwaukee, Rich Kirchen noted the Brewers at the midpoint in the ’14 MLB season have the best record in the NL, and attendance is "running nearly 4 percent ahead” of ‘13. Brewers Owner Mark Attanasio said that he “anticipates attendance reaching 2.8 million to 2.9 million.” Attanasio: “Winning helps bring fans out. Our numbers are up, obviously. Does that mean we end up at 2.8 (million), 2.9? I think we’re going to end up at least 2.8 million fans if not more” (BIZJOURNALS.COM, 6/27).

LION KING: A crowd of more than 100 people “lined up outside of the security lines" at Orlando Int'l Airport last night to welcome new Orlando City SC F Kaká to the city. The team “formally announced” the signing during a news conference today. Kaká is Orlando City's' “first MLS-designated player and will be a key piece of the franchise's future.” A “diverse group of fans, along with local and Brazilian media, showed up at least an hour before Kaká's flight landed” at 6:12pm ET (ORLANDOSENTINEL.com, 6/30).
