MLS and Soccer United Marketing named NASCAR Senior Managing Dir of Broadcasting SETH BACON to the newly created position of Senior VP/Media. Bacon in his new role will be responsible for developing and executing the direction of the league's media properties and will oversee the distribution of content and programming on int'l, national and regional levels through advanced multimedia-platform channels. One of Bacon's first priorities will be working closely with MLS VP/Broadcasting LARRY TISCORNIA to integrate the new TV and media rights partnerships with ESPN, Fox Sports and Univision Deportes (MLS). 

EXECS: Heat Group Enterprises, the marketing and booking arm of AmericanAirlines Arena, announced the retirement of Exec VP MIKE WALKER and the promotion of Assistant GM JARRED DIAMOND to that role (Heat)....The AAC promoted MARK HODGKIN to Assistant Commissioner of Digital Media, ROBERT WEYGAND JR. to Olympic Sports Administration and KENNETH SCHANK  to Senior Dir of Compliance (AAC)....Rutgers Univ. announced Senior Associate AD JASON BAUM will add Chief Communications Officer to his title. The school also promoted KEVIN LORINCZ to Assistant AD/Athletic Communications, KIMBERLY ZIVKOVICH to Dir of Athletic Communications and JIMMY GILL to Associate Dir of Athletic Communications (Rutgers)....Eastern Michigan Univ. named Xavier Univ. Associate AD & Senior Woman Administrator ERIN KIDO Senior Associate AD/Administration (EMU)....Bowie State Univ. named Associate AD & Senior Woman Administrator DONNA POLK interim AD, effective July 12, following the departure of ANTON GOFF (CIAA)....Hampton Univ. named political science professor and Faculty Athletics Representative EUGENE MARSHALL JR. AD. He takes over for NOVELLE DICKENSON (Hampton).
