NHL Kings Launch Video-Board Ad Featuring Will Ferrell Near MSG In One-Day Stunt
The NHL Kings "purchased video-board advertising in Times Square" near MSG, which on Friday featured a video of comedian Will Ferrell "imploring fans -- in text below the screen, no audio -- to roar, 'Go Kings Go!,'" according to Lance Pugmire of the L.A. TIMES. Kings VP/Communications & Broadcasting Michael Altieri said, "There’s a lot of attention and buzz surrounding the Stanley Cup Final. Our goal is to rise above the noise. This was an opportunity to do that with respect to the Kings and NHL, with no disrespect to the Rangers." ). Meanwhile, in N.Y., John Branch wrote when it "comes to Cup fever, Manhattan might pale to its sunny, cross-country namesake, Manhattan Beach, and that town’s next-door neighbor, Hermosa Beach."
